OPEN WATER DIVER

Divers will initially be able to dive to 18 metres without the supervision of an underwater dive guide, but accompanied by a diving partner who is also trained to a minimum level of open water diver. Diving depths can increase to up to 40 metres with experience and additional training.

The course consists of 12 hours of theory online via SSI website + 5 dives + exam

This course represents the first international level of diving grades – the official qualification awarded is the second level recreational elementary diver.

Requirements

To be able to swim and to be over 10 years old. Medical certificate of good health issued in the last two years. Youngsters between 10 and 15 years old will receive the Junior Open Water Diver certificate and will only be able to dive with an adult OWD (or superior) and only to depths of 12 metres until they are 16 years old.

Duration

2-3 days. The days can be agreed upon with the students.
